Sasha Alexander Gorksy

Sasha Alexander Gorsky is an artist born in Zagreb, Croatia, on May 11, 1974. The son of a housewife and a dentist, his family is of Slavic origin. His ancestors fled Russia in 1917 during the revolution. Sasha’s parents left Croatia and settled in France in the 1980s.

Sasha quickly discovered art in all its forms, thanks to his Slavic upbringing, which emphasised the combination of academic learning and cultural development. For 15 years, he created drawings without ever truly committing to the art world, treating art as a hobby while focusing on his studies in economics.

It was in the early 2000s that he met an art expert who encouraged him and advised him to transform his drawings into paintings. Embracing empiricism with enthusiasm, Sasha began to create and amass, over the course of five years, an impressive collection of paintings. Initially reluctant to sell his works, some of his paintings eventually entered the art market in 2008, achieving moderate success.

In 2009, he moved to Portugal, Lisbon, where he created numerous hyperrealistic portraits that gained international recognition. In 2020, he discovered the use of artificial intelligence and reprographic techniques, which, through high-quality printing methods, simulate the appearance of painted canvases. This marked the beginning of a new creative style for him, mixing elements of classical art and modernism, as well as abstract and hyperrealistic influences.

Sasha has a deep passion for pop art and street art. His works from this period are characterized by vibrant colors, strong contrasts, dynamic shapes and expressive compositions that create visual provocations. All his creations, whether painted on canvas or digitally made, date from 2022.
